Every child is a piece
of the picture.
Tiny Town is a nursery school and crèche in Randpark Ridge, under the same principal since 2006. We build character: mentally, emotionally, socially and physically, one piece at a time.

Babies through to Grade R
For some children, starting nursery school is a big adventure.
For others, it is a big step. You may be filled with anxiety. Is my child old enough, will he or she cry? Those fears are normal. Please be reassured: our teachers have settled a great many small people, and they will settle yours.
At Tiny Town Nursery School we aim to provide a structured and disciplined environment in which we can educate our learners in a loving setting using a holistic approach. We strive to guide our learners to achieve their full potential mentally, emotionally, socially and physically.
Seven pieces. One well balanced little person.
Our goal is the development of the whole child in all its respects, culminating in a happy, well balanced individual. Our daily programme is built around seven areas, and like any good puzzle, it only works when every piece is there.
- We Build Character
Gross Motor
Rhythmical movement in the form of climbing, running, jumping and dancing. We have jungle gyms and outdoor equipment, including a small trampoline, to make it happen.
Music
Music appreciation in the form of singing, dancing, dramatisation and percussion instruments.
Fantasy Play
Imagination is an important part of a child's development. We have fantasy corners where children can dress up and take part in make-believe play.
Creative Activities
Children love to create things. They take part in all sorts of creative activities: painting, cutting, pasting, and constructing out of anti-waste materials.
Skills
Perceptual and cognitive skills are needed in preparation for primary school: reading, writing and maths. We use memory games, puzzles, board games, worksheets and counting blocks to develop them.
Fine Motor
A fine motor grip and hand-eye co-ordination are what let a child write, manipulate, thread and tie. We offer playdough manipulation, puzzles, threading, peg boards and block building.
Reading
We are proud of our reading corners, and our children are encouraged to “read” books. We teach respect and a love of books by reading stories every day: theme-related stories as well as bible stories, songs and rhymes.

Safe, and taken seriously
We are linked to Beagle Watch and they patrol our road daily. Every gate is closed behind you, your child is walked in by an adult, and nobody collects them but the people you name.
First aid, every teacher
Not one designated person, all of them. Our teachers hold more than 40 years of experience between them and train continuously through SA Child Care.
Real food, cooked here
Breakfast, lunch and two snacks daily, made from fresh ingredients shortly before serving. No soya fillers in the meat. Fruit every single day.
Open 06:30 to 17:30
Monday to Friday. Half day collection at 14:00. Aftercare is available for siblings at surrounding primary schools.
Babies through Grade R
From our cot rooms right up to Grade R, with Audiblox school readiness for the 00 and 0 classes, so the jump to big school is a step, not a leap.
Health Department inspected
Inspected by Section 5, Roodepoort. The Ridge Terrace clinic visits four to five times a year to do immunisations on site.
This is the actual school.
No stock photography anywhere on this site. Every picture is Tiny Town, taken at Tiny Town.
