Tiny TownNursery School

The question you are really asking.

Every parent walks into a nursery school wondering the same thing. Here is our answer, in full, before you have to ask it.

Linked to Beagle Watch

We are aware of the importance of security. The school is linked to Beagle Watch, and they patrol our road daily.

Health Department inspected

Tiny Town is inspected by Section 5, Roodepoort, of the Health Department.

Nobody collects without consent

Your child is released only to the people you have named. If your arrangements change, phone the school. We will not let a child go home with anyone we have not been told about.

Accompanied to class

Your child should be accompanied to class by an adult. We cannot take responsibility for a child dropped off outside the school, and we ask that every gate and door is closed behind you.

First aid on site, always

Every one of our teachers is a qualified first aider, and the principal is a qualified Level 1 first aider. Parents are notified of any fall or accident.

Immunisation and clinic visits

All immunisations must be kept up to date and a clinic card supplied. The Ridge Terrace clinic visits the school four to five times a year to do immunisations on site.

We will phone you. Every time.

The school notifies parents of any fall or accident, however small. In case of a medical emergency, Tiny Town uses either Healthworx Medical Centre or Wilgeheuwel Hospital.

  • Medicine

Any medicine must be written up in the medicine register, and handed over rather than left in your child's bag.

  • Illness

Please keep your child at home if they are ill or not yet recovered, and let us know immediately in the case of an infectious illness or lice.

Where they actually spend the day.

Baby and cot rooms

Quiet, muralled rooms with cots, changing stations and a ball-pit playpen for our smallest ones.

Jungle gyms and outdoor play

Wooden play structures, slides, a tyre path, a playhouse and a small trampoline across a large grassed yard.

Reading corners

Every classroom has one, and we are proud of them. Stories are read every single day.

Fantasy corners

Dress-up and make-believe space in each class.

Small classes

An excellent child-to-educator ratio, so that every child gets individual attention.

Aftercare

Aftercare is provided for surrounding primary schools, for siblings of children at Tiny Town.
